Packing up Lottie
This evening we packed up Lottie, and then unpacked her, four times.
Yikes. We’ve got so much stuff it’s unfunny. The person sitting on the back seat is so squashed in with bags that they can’t really move or breathe properly, let alone be a useful passenger (help navigate, edit material, make jokes, pass sweets etc). And we’ve got more passengers joining us at certain points along the way. I think at one point we even go up to five people. Interesting.
The root of our problem – seven cameras, thirteen lenses, five laptops, eights sets of headphones, nine bags of (carefully labelled) wires, eleven battery packs, two seismometers and four hard drives. And that’s just our tech stuff. Essentially Lottie is a workhorse in the fullest sense – as well as delivering us safe and sound to our destinations, she’ll also be working as a rolling studio each evening, so we can digitalise content, edit material, blog stuff and charge up all the cameras all on the road.
And then there’s all the other stuff – camping paraphernalia, tools, spare parts, personal stuff, a generator, a fridge, a stove. Woop. A lot of stuff. And that’s before Serena accidently included the contents of the spare room. Yes, really.
We’ll get there. We’re just not there yet. Thirty minutes pack up time we’re aiming for.
Yes.
